Once the door panel is removed, the problem may be quite obvious, as it was in my case. Your door may have a vapor barrier or plastic sheet that is glued to the door. Carefully remove this. In most cases, you can reuse the adhesive for the barrier during re-assembly. Make sure the motor is connected. Look for burned wires or obvious damage. If everything is intact, you need to test the motor. The best way to do this is to run a jumper wire from the positive terminal of your battery to the positive side of the motor to see if it jumps to life. If not, the motor needs to be replaced.

Use an ice scraper to remove ice from your windshield and glass. If you find yourself without an ice scraper, you may consider using a spatula or some item you find in your car to remove the ice. This can cause windshield repair scratches on the glass. A plastic scraper is very affordable and can be found in most stores you visit. Pick one or two up the next time you are out so that you do not get stuck without the proper equipment you need when your windshield is iced over.

So, what do you do if you have a high deductible and your windshield gets a chip or crack? windshield chip repair has been around since the mid 1970's. Most insurance companies wave the deductible for windshield chip repair, but what do you do if you have a crack starting at the edge of your windshield? If you call windshield repair shops you will find most shops will not repair a crack over 6 inches in length and they will almost always recommend replacement.

You have to check the extent of damage on your windshield before doing anything. You can either bring your car to a professional or do the inspection yourself. If there are minor cracks or chips, the damage can still be repaired. Small cracks that look like cobwebs are repairable as well. However, there are kinds of cracks that are beyond repair. Seek a professional's opinion as to whether the damage on your windshield can still be fixed or not.

And don't forget your basic holding costs. Holding costs are the gas and electric you use during the time you own the house along with any finance charges if you have any loans. Also don't forget the real estate commission you need to deduct from your selling price. And last, what about your profit? You must figure in your profit just like it was any other expense. If you are planning to make $25,000 or $50,000, you must include it with your estimate. After all, who is more important than you!
